Teresa Duke is a modern realist artist living and working in the Piedmont region of Northern Virginia. She holds an MFA in painting from George Washington University and has been a teaching artist to students of all ages for nearly 30 years. Teresa has studied with master portrait artists Daniel Greene and Rob Liberace as well as landscape master, Wolfe Kahn. With a strong interest in human anatomy and how light informs the mood and structure of a painting or drawing, Teresa has used this recent time of the pandemic to return to a first love - the figure. In mixed media drawings and paintings, she continues to seek the beauty found in the relationships of parts to the whole, and the expressive qualities of the human form.
